Jennifer Walsh with HPU students in front of the new HPU Downtown Science Laboratories.
HPU Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Chief Strategy Officer Jennifer Walsh, Ph.D., was recently featured in The CEO Magazine. The article details how Walsh is driving transformative growth by embracing innovation and agility in higher education.
Since joining HPU five years ago, Walsh has leveraged her extensive academic leadership experience to reposition the HPU as a dynamic, future-focused institution uniquely adapted to its unique Pacific location. Under her leadership, HPU has expanded partnerships with the Department of Defense, launched industry-specific programs like construction management, and established a mainland campus in Las Vegas to serve Hawaiian expats and healthcare students. With a 40% increase in enrollment, Walsh highlights the University’s ability to adapt rapidly to workforce needs while preserving its core mission of serving Hawaiʻi’s local community and economy. “Five years from now, if we were to look into the future, we wouldn’t even be able to describe what the university will look like because we are not afraid to change,” Walsh said.
