Aloha and welcome to Ohana Weekend! 

We are so excited to have you back at Hawaii Pacific University on October 10-12 for a special weekend dedicated to reconnecting with your student!  

Whether you are here to spend some quality time together or simply to show your support, we have prepared a variety of activities for you to enjoy.  

Welcome back to HPU Ohana! 

Registrations will be via Eventbrite. Some will have a small fee associated with covering cost and reserve participation.  

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2025   

• Tacos and Trivia Night in Sharky’s Cove from 6 pm - 8 pm.  
  • Join the Office of Student Engagement for a fun-filled evening at Sharky’s Cove on Friday, October 10th, from 6–8 pm! Bring your family, enjoy delicious tacos, and test your knowledge in a friendly trivia competition. Teams will battle it out for bragging rights and some exciting prizes. We apologize in advance, our food vendor for this event cannot accommodate serious allergies to food. There will be meat tacos and vegetarian tacos only.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2025   

• Pickleball!!
  • Pickleball with Your Student: Join the fun and hit the court with your student and the HPU Pickleball Club on Saturday, October 11! Whether you are a seasoned player or trying the game for the first time, this is a perfect way to share some laughs, a little friendly competition, and quality time together. The Pickleball Club will be on hand to guide you, so all skill levels are welcome.

• Campus Activities Board’s Annual Drag Brunch in the Sunset Ballroom from 10:30am - 12:30pm

• • The Campus Activities Board invites you to join us for one of the most vibrant traditions of the year, our Annual Drag Brunch! Happening on Saturday, October 11th from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, this event blends education and entertainment in a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

• HPU Shark Athletics

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2025 

• Morning Hike to Makapu’u. Meet at Aloha Tower at 7:00 AM, depart at 7:20 AM
  • Join our Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Jeff Rich, as he guides parents and students on the famous Makapuʻu hike—a must-see on Oʻahu! Together, you’ll take in breathtaking views, learn fun facts along the way, and share an unforgettable experience with your family.

• Kaka‘ako District Walking Tour! 12:00 PM - 2:00 PMMeeting Location: Old Spaghetti Factory at Aloha Tower Marketplace - Park your vehicle at Aloha Tower Marketplace (validations provided) and we will drive you to Kakaʻako and pick you up at 2PM. 
  • Discover one of Honolulu’s most vibrant neighborhoods with our very own Dr. Adam Burke (Associate Professor of Anthropology/Sustainability) from the Department of History, Humanities, and International Studies! Parents and students are invited to join this guided walking tour of Kakaʻako, where history, culture, and stunning street art come alive. The walking route involves sidewalks, flat ground, and should not exceed more than a half-mile. Wearing covered shoes is advisable.
    Van seating is limited, so gather your family and sign up today for this fun and educational experience you won’t want to miss! Professor Burke will share the history on Kakaʻako and afterwards, you can "talk story" over a beverage with other parents.
