Graphic Designer
Job Summary
This is a part-time student worker position. This role is responsible for developing and editing graphic design projects to support the Marketing Communications team’s initiatives. Projects vary and may include signage, print collateral, digital assets for web or social, logo design, and branded items, and may involve creating new designs from scratch, updating past projects or editing designs created by internal partners.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have experience using Adobe Illustrator or InDesign
- Good understanding of design principles, and best practices for print and digital design
- Familiarity with tailoring designs to an established brand
- A keen eye for aesthetics and detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and troubleshoot problems
Desired Qualifications:
- Photo editing skills
- Print production experience
- Experience with vendor management
Key Responsibilities
Production design and editing (60% of total job)
- Develop designs to align with needed specs/contents
- Refine designs based on stakeholder input
- Enhance designs, messaging and HPU Brand when possible
Print production (20% of total job)
- Package files for print production
- Send files and projects to print vendors and/or marketing management support
- Communicate effectively with team, stakeholders and vendors
Brand alignment (20% of total job)
- Edit designs to bring them into alignment with established brand standards.
