Westside Cohort
The Hawai`i Pacific University School of Social Work is committed to meeting the needs of the community. One such initiative is the West Oahu Cohort. This program is an extension of the 3-year Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. The program is taught on the Westside of the island, which creates an opportunity to train social workers to serve the population where they live and work.
The profession of social work promotes human and community well-being. Social workers focus on social and economic justice at the local, national, and global level. They are often pioneers - challenging the status quo and working tirelessly to help others help themselves. Social workers have many options for specialization. MSW graduates work in areas such as: child or adult protective services, health care, mental health, individual and family counseling, criminal justice, community organizing, or social agency administration.
Hawai'i Pacific University's Master of Social Work (MSW) is continually evaluating the needs of our applicants and students. At this time, we are halting new student entry at our West O'ahu and Hickam Air Force base locations. 2022 admissions applications are open for both our full-time 2-year and full-time 3-year MSW tracks and 1-year Advanced Standing MSW at our Downtown Honolulu campus.
