Dr. Cavanaugh has nearly 20 years of clinical practice, including both domestic and international experience. In the US, she has worked in a variety of settings and populations including early intervention, outpatient pediatric and adult neurologic, inpatient pediatric, and free community clinics. Internationally, Dr. Cavanaugh has worked in post-Earthquake Haiti managing a Spinal Cord Injury program and with Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
In addition to physical therapy, Dr. Cavanaugh has training in applied epidemiology and has experience in investigating the transmission, risk factors, and outcomes of infectious and chronic diseases that pose public health threats. Her current research interest in physical therapy includes work to investigate rehabilitation and health access for vulnerable populations.
