Library Publishing
The Library and Learning Commons supports Open Access peer-reviewed publishing initiatives, using the PKP OJS platform and software. Peer-reviewed journals are often placed behind paywalls, accessible only to subscribers, which contributes to the ongoing serials crisis. By supporting and publishing peer-reviewed Open Access journals, we aim to reduce barriers to access and help mitigate this crisis.
Advantages of publishing Open Access with the library:
-
Open Access offers increased visibility, impact, and accessibility for research.
-
Faculty publishing Open Access retain more control over their intellectual property.
-
PKP OJS software manages every step of the peer-review and publishing process and provides a professional-looking, secure site for displaying journal articles.
-
Peer-reviewed articles are indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals.
-
DOIs are created for articles.
Editors shape the requirements, focus, sections, review process, and submission requirements within the parameters of the library’s publishing policies.
