Student Staff

HPU's Housing and Residence Life department is comprised of part-time and full-time professional staff members who strive for greatness around Harbor Lofts & Executive Centre. Our student staff is made up of Community Advisors (CAs)  and  Front Desk Assistants (FDAs). The Housing team collaborates diligently with Facilities, Pier 9, Security, and numerous other offices. To ensure that HPU students are engaged, safe, and supported on their academic journey here at HPU. Student Employment Information

Community Advisor Application Dates & Deadlines:

  • Application Opening: October 12th, 2026 at 8:00 AM
  • Application Closing: November 30th, 2026 at 8:00 AM

CA Application Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Applications must be submitted prior to the application closing. Late applications will not be accepted. 
  • In order to hold the position, CA's must:
    • Be a registered full-time student at HPU
    • Hold a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of offer, and during the tenure of the position
    • Have lived in HPU's residential community for at least one full semester prior to begriming the role
    • Be in good financial, academic, and behavioral conduct standing with the university

CA Interview Process:

  • CA candidate interviews will be held in February
  • All candidates will need to participate in the CA position interviews

Compensation Package: 

  • Room & Board are covered. 
    • The meal plan that is financially covered is the 14 meal per week w/ $250 flex dollars). 
  • CAs are also granted a monthly stipend

Front Desk Assistant Application:

  • If you are interested in working in the Housing Office as a Front Desk Assistant, please click here to apply:
  • To be considered for an interview, you must submit an application. 

Front Desk Assistant Requirements:

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work Study
  • Be dedicated to supporting the Hawaii Pacific University Community

Front Desk Interview Process:

  • Applicants can anticipate receiving communication on interviews once their application has been complete
    • All applicants will need to participate in an interview

Front Desk Assistant Compensation:

  • Pay Rate: $16 per hour
  • Employment Period: August 27th, 2026 - May 15th, 2026
  • Hours Available: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5PM
    • Hours are capped at 19 hours per week
